Media Call: Durham Cathedral’s Armistice centenary exhibition

Monday 24 September 10.30am

Launch of the new temporary exhibition Armistice: Living with the Peace in Open Treasure, Durham Cathedral’s world class museum experience.

Interview and photo opportunities with The Very Reverend Andrew Tremlett, Dean of Durham, and Marie-Thérèse Mayne, Exhibitions Officer and curator of the exhibition.
Commemorating the centenary of the Armistice, this exhibition explores what it meant for the people of County Durham and North East England as war ended, soldiers returned, and peace was restored.
Armistice: Living with the Peace features objects connected to Durham families, including the diary and sketchbook of a Durham Light Infantry prisoner of war. We tell the personal stories of those who returned home and those who are remembered.
Further exhibition information to be issued tomorrow.

If you wish to attend please contact Clarissa Cahill, Marketing & Communications Officer at Durham Cathedral by replying to this email or calling 0191 374 4067. Meet at the Visitor Desk inside the Cathedral.
